Like hummingbirds are drawn to nectar,
She could not fight the way she felt.
Love lingered and boiled inside her,
Unfair was the passion she'd been dealt.
Every waking moment was haunted
With this unsatisfiable desire.
She loved him in all ways possible.
He was the fuel to her raging fire.
Any little way she could speak to him
Was taken and used without a thought.
Never were those few moments enough.
In the end, only more pain was brought.
Each time reminded her he was perfect.
There was no comparison to this man.
But like a picture in a musuem,
From any taking, her heart was banned.
This want grew more painful each day.
The battle was becoming too much.
Tears that once could be soothed quickly,
Came rapidly at every touch.
Never would he know of her passion.
He could not see this young girl's love.
She watched him fall for another.
That was the final push and shove.
She did not kill herself that night.
Though, I wouldn't say she truly lived.
She ran away from any reminders
Of this love where she could never give.
