You've been gone so many years,
Thoughts of you
reduces me to tears.
Someone...
explain to me why we had to part,
Just when it seemed
- we began to start.
You saved me from the monster
who took away my youth,
When I was a child
and didn't know the truth.
He really didn't want me,
but I was his pawn,
Only wanting to abuse me,
until the morning's dawn.
I only wanted to see the smile
upon your face,
It didn't matter when or how,
at any given place.
At the break of dawn
or 'til deep within the night,
You were my source of strength
- my guiding light.
I put my faith in you
for the love you've always shown,
From the day we met
and even now that I've grown.
It doesn't matter that your gone
- way up there in heaven,
Your soul still reaches m
e- even without your presence.
Jelousy soared among siblings
- even your wife,
Unable to understand
our relationship in life.
The boundless connection that we had,
An unrivaled one
- between me and my Dad.
