When I first saw you

I couldn't believe my eyes

it was as if I'd found

the true meaning of my life.

I saw you start to leave

I knew that I couldn' let you go

so I did whatever I could to get you alone.

 

When I finally did and

you told me your name

I knew that somehow a part of me

would never be the same.

We talked for only a short time

but I felt something there

 

I wanted to ask you for your number'

but I was too scared.

So you made the first move

and wrote it on the back of my hand

 

I smiled to myself as you walked away

because I had found me a good man.

I called you a few days later

and we made plans to go out

 

I had a feeling things would go well

but I still had my doubts.

You were everything I expected and even more

and the moment your lips met mine,

I knew it was you I've been waiting for.
